APAR Summary
------------

APAR: IC08043

  SYMPTOMS:

Unable to initialize Suprafax V32BIS modem with SUPRAFAX.PIF

  SOLUTION:

SUPRAFAX.PIF was modified to correct this problem. This fix module should
be applied to the LAN Distance workstation (OS/2 Remote, Windows Remote or
Connection Server) configured to use this modem. LD11PIFS.ZIP contains the
new PIF file. After copying the PIF file to the WAL directory, bring up the
settings notebook, delete any modems assigned the SUPRAFAX modem type, and
then reassign the SUPRAFAX modem type for the change to take affect.

APAR: IC08102

  SYMPTOMS:

Link Statistics return codes in the Lan Distance audit file are not
  documented.

  SOLUTION:

These return codes will be documented in a future release of the
LAN Distance publications. In the meantime, CCI_RC.H (which contains
these return codes) has been made available. LD11DOCS.ZIP contains
  this file.

APAR: IC08292

  SYMPTOMS:

  Problems communicating to/from a Microcom QX/4232BIS using the MICROCOM.PIF.

  SOLUTION:

Commands in MICROCOM.PIF have been modified to correct this problem.
This fix module should be applied to the LAN Distance workstation
(OS/2 Remote, Windows Remote or Connection Server) configured to use this
modem. LD11PIFS.ZIP contains the new PIF file.
After copying the PIF file to the WAL directory, bring up the
settings notebook, delete any modems assigned the MICROCOM modem type, and
then reassign the MICROCOM modem type for the change to take affect.

APAR: IC08386

  SYMPTOMS:

AMBRA Laptop (LAN Distance Windows Remote) locks up when LAN Distance
  is shutdown.

  SOLUTION:

WINAMAC.SYS has been modified to correct this problem.
Although, this particular problem occurred on an AMBRA Laptop, this problem
may occur in different environments and have various symptoms. LD11WIN.ZIP
  contains this fix.

APAR: IC08434

  SYMPTOMS:

ARTIC 8 port adapter fails to answer call from WAC on synchronous leased line.

  SOLUTION:

SYNCLL.PIF and NODIALOG.DDF have been modified to correct this problem.

After copying these files to the WAL directory, bring up the settings
notebook, delete the synchronous leased line modems and reassign them.
The changes WILL NOT take affect unless these steps are done.
These files must be applied to the dial and answer side of the connection.
LD11OS2.ZIP and LD11CS.ZIP contain the new PIF and DDF files.

APAR: IC08468

  SYMPTOMS:

WM1008E error received when loading WINAMAC.SYS on LD Windows Remote.

  SOLUTION:

LD11WIN.ZIP contains the fix for this APAR.

APAR: IC08555

  SYMPTOMS:

The readme for IP07050 and LD1.11 describes a new section that can
be added to the WCLLOCAL.INI for configuring the Auto LAN Streamer
adapter (TOKENRINGMACS). If other token ring NIF files are added to this
section, LAN Distance will configure this adapter for promiscuous
mode by default. If the adapter supports source routing, then the
adapter should be configured for source routing and not promiscuous
mode. When an adapter is configured for promiscuous mode on the
connection server then NETBEUI and all other protocols are bound to
PDFH_NIF. When an adapter is configured for source routing NETBEUI
is bound to xxxx_nif, PDFH_NIF and all other protocols are bound to
xxxx_nif where xxxx_nif is the name added to the TOKENRINGMACS section.

  SOLUTION:

LD11CS.ZIP contains the fix for this APAR.

Steps for configuring a Token Ring driver that supports source routing:
  1) Configure the token ring adapter using LAPS
  2) Install LD11CS.ZIP
  3) Edit the WCLLOCAL.INI file and add the following (note: this "." in
     xxxx.NIF is not a typo):

     [TOKENRINGMACS]
     xxxx.NIF = sourceroute

  4) Reboot the machine
  5) Start LAN Distance and settings. Go to the LAN/Address tab and wait
until LD fills in the LAN Type and adapter fields. LAN Distance should
     recognize the new adapter.
  6) Save settings.
  7) Reboot

APAR: IC08630

  SYMPTOMS:

LAN Distance Windows Remote configured for asynchronous leased line
fails to establish a connection. "Connecting" remains as the remote's status.

  SOLUTION:

LD11WIN.ZIP and LD11CS.ZIP contain the fixes for this APAR. Both the
windows remote and the connection server must be updated.

  Steps:
    1) Install LD11WIN.ZIP on the windows remote.
    2) Install LD11CS.ZIP on the connection server.
    3) Open the Settings notebook (on remote and connection server)
    4) Select the MODEMS tab and delete the async leased line modem
assignment (on remote and connection server)
    5) Select the ASSIGN button and assign the Asynchronous Leased
Line modem to the port (on remote and connection server)
    6) The changes WILL NOT take place UNLESS these steps are performed

APAR: IC08683

  SYMPTOMS:
There are 2 problems described and fixed in this apar. First, multiple
attempts to logon to the LAN Distance connection server with an
incorrect passphrase results in a misleading error message. For example,
when maximum logon attempts is equal to 4, the user attempts to logon
the 5th time and gets "MSG001: Access Denied" message instead of
a message saying the account is inactive. The second problem is
to make the inactive account active again, the LAN Distance security
administrator must activate the user account twice.

  SOLUTION:

LD11CS.ZIP contains the fix for this APAR. WCBSEC.DLL can be
applied to the LAN Distance OS/2 Remote if security is enabled on
  the remote.

APAR: IC08716,IC08717

  SYMPTOMS:

WCL0321 error message occurs when selecting to Dial from the Phonebook
or "Processing Error" occurs when opening and/or making changes in the LAN
Distance Settings Notebook. The WCL0321 may also occur when starting
  LAN Distance.

  SOLUTION:

LD11OS2.ZIP should be applied on LAN Distance OS/2 remote workstations
with this problem. LD11CS.ZIP should be applied to LAN Distance
  connection servers with this problem.

APAR: IC08729

  SYMPTOMS:

Lack of information on return and error codes in LAN Distance documentation.

  SOLUTION:

See LD11DOCS.ZIP for the following files:

    WCL.OS2 - OS/2 error messages
    WCLH.OS2 - OS/2 error message help text

    WCL.WIN - Windows error messages
WCLH.WIN - Windows error message help text

LDIST.DOC - Return codes from LDIST commands

CCI_RC.H - Return codes in the audit log

APAR: IC08814 (Note: This fix can only be applied to English versions of LD)

  SYMPTOMS:

The LD Windows Remote fails to display the LD Connection Server
ICON it is connected to after IP07050 has been applied and callback
  is being used.

  SOLUTION:

LD11WIN.ZIP contains the fix for this APAR. This fix can only be
applied to English versions of the code.

APAR: IC08988

  SYMPTOMS:

Using auto-filtering with leased lines results in slow response times,
failure to logon to the domain controller, and problems when trying
to use OS2ping to reach another machine on the ring.

  SOLUTION:

LD11CS.ZIP contains the fix for this APAR.

APAR: IC09002

  SYMPTOMS:

With remotes dialing into the connection server,
over time the connection server will start rejecting calls
with a WCL0336 error. The modems connect; however, the
connection server never sends data back to the remotes.
The reason for this is that there are no available buffers
for LAN Distance to send data because the OEM driver has
not done the right processing to cause the buffers to
be freed. Note that these buffers are gradually lost
over time; therefore, rebooting the connection server
periodically may be a temporary work around.

The Stargate and Digiboard drivers must be updated
as described above. Please contact Stargate and Digiboard
  for updated drivers.

Note: This problem does not apply to ARTIC or COM ports.
