                         jspell 1.0

                  Copyright 1993 Joohee Jeong

This file contains some essential information on "jspell",
a spell checker for ASCII text files, featuring

  (1) easy to use interface,
  (2) fast and reliable word suggestion for misspelled words,
  (3) global action (ignore all, replace all, mark all etc.),
  (4) undo,
  (5) TeX/LaTeX.

System Requirements:
  DOS 3.3 or later
  Hard Disk
  384K RAM

Installation:
  (1) Make sure you have two files
        install.exe and jspell.000
in the current directory, and enter the command
        install
  (2) The installation procedure is pretty much fool proof and safe,
      I believe. It doesn't modify your autoexec.bat or config.sys
file. It doesn't change or introduce any environment variable.
It'll take about 15 seconds for 486 or fast 386 machines and
about 1 minute for 286 notebooks.
  (3) After installation, you will have the following files in the
jspell directory, which are created by "install". (You'll get
prompted to enter this directory name.)
      --------------------------------------------------------------
         FileName size Description
      --------------------------------------------------------------
        00readme 2465 this file
        base.dic 153611 permanent dictionary (30,900 words)
        jspell.cfg <50 configuration file
        jspell.exe 55224 the jspell executable
jspell.hlp 3745 help text file (compressed)
        user.dic 0 personal dictionary
      --------------------------------------------------------------
"install" will also create a batch file "jspell.bat" in some
      directory in your PATH.
  (4) It is recommended to execute the command
        jspell ?
to read the help screen, which explains the usage of "jspell".
