DPL10.TXT - About Duet Productions, Ltd.

After many weeks of template changes and 2.1-cw conversions a partial
prototype has reached a stage of stability.

Features carried over

from the 2.1 include: User ID/Password access, add/change/delete access
levels for every table, and multiple sort orders with entry lookups,
modular design allowing for run-time configuration of all possible
combination of modules.

New features in the Windows version include: sizable memo's and tables,
sizable columns for every table saved in the INI file, the ability to
change current user (and access levels) without exiting or closing any
windows, select from either Clarion 2.1 or TopSpeed data file types.

Template Features: Default Access levels for each Browse, Module Name &
version number, generation of conversion code for Clarion -> TopSpeed
for all data files in the dictionary. Multiple key sorts on browse tables,
accessable by entry fields. Lookup buttons on forms, calendar lookup for
date fields.

Future features will include: user selectable button bar options, access
levels for each module/user combination, viewing of records when change
access is not allowed, switches in template to enable/disable access
features.

Required Files (not included in above files):
  PKUnzip.EXE (to decompress the files)
CWRUN10.DLL (Clarion for Windows run time library)
  CWTPS.DLL (TopSpeed file driver library)

Installing:
create a directory for the application and unzip the DPL10.ZIP
file into this directory.
create a program manager Item with the directory name you selected
above and the file name DPL10.EXE in the Command Line Prompt, enter the
directory from above as the Working Directory.
  select OK.

Running:
Select the DPL Icon, and double click (or press ENTER).
  The Welcome screen will appear.
Type USER at the User ID prompt and press Enter.
The OK button will then acivate and be selected.
Press ENTER again and the Application's main window will appear.
Changing Access:
There is an ID: Manager defined in the system, the password is also
Manager, with full access to everything (can also change access levels
for each table & each user).
There is also an ID: Dummy with no password, who is severly limited
in accessing anything.

By changing the user id, password, you can get an Idea of what
benifits the security creates.

Selecting Items:
At this time the Checkbook is not functional and has not been activated.
Currently G/L and A/R are the most complete, although some selections work
from each of the modules. The File menu contains sub-menus for each item,
and each item also appears on the Button-Bar. Selecting any of the first
eight items on the left side of the button bar changes the right ten
choices to that module.
The Ninth choice on the Left half of the button bar is help contents.
The help file is a Clarion table/form combination. There has not been
enough time to create a Windows help file, and all the Dos version help
files were easily accessable.
