DIAGPTR.ZIP - An collection of improved pointers for OS/2 Warp

This set features a main arrow that points at a 45 degree angle
toward the upper left corner, instead of the normal upward direction
of the standard OS/2 pointer. In addition, the "illegal" pointer has
been changed to a red symbol (from the standard black), the "wait"
pointer is a stylish hourglass (not the usual model!), and the
remaining "sizing" pointers have been slightly enlarged and refined.

The "hot spot" of the main pointer is the extreme tip of the arrow,
not the black edge used by the standard OS/2 pointer. For the other
(sizing) pointers, the "hot spot" has been carefully set to the exact
center of the arrow.

Installation (for OS/2 Warp):

The pointer set is purposely contained within a subdirectory (called
DIAGONAL) within the ZIP file. The easiest way to install them is to
open the \OS2\POINTERS folder, then *drag* the DIAGONAL folder, and
drop it inside \OS2\POINTERS - of course, you could just unzip
DIAGPTR.ZIP inside \OS2\POINTERS, but if you are reading this text,
you must have already unzipped the file, so DIAGONAL is already
sitting there waiting to be dragged. :-)

Then, open the OS/2 SETTINGS folder (click with the right mouse
button on an empty spot on the desktop, then click on System Setup).
Open the MOUSE object, and click on the POINTERS tab. Click on "Load
Set", select the DIAGONAL set, then click on LOAD - that's it!

These pointers are released as freeware for unlimited use. I've also
included two icon files, suitable for any pointer folder.

Users of OS/2 2.x *may* be able to use these pointers (I have doubts
about how colors will work under 2.x). However, you will need to use
a REXX procedure (or some other shareware program) to assign pointers
under version 2.x. If you know how to do that, and want to risk
trying them out under 2.x, great! If you don't know how, it would be
easier (and safer) for you to upgrade (to OS/2 Warp) than to figure
out how to assign pointers in OS/2 2.x - I know this from experience.
Go ahead and upgrade - the BonusPak alone is worth the price!
