Title: Baby Sweater and cap

Material: 4 Ply Americana, Sparkle, or Sparkle Spun yarn:
        3.5 (3.5 )ozs. Color A (solid) and
        3.5 (6) ozs. Color B (Variegated)
        Crochet Hook Size "G" ("H") or size needed to oblain gauge
Gauge: On "G" Hook - 8 dc = 2"
       On "H" Hook - 3 dc = 2"

Sweater:
Body:   Starting at neck with G (H) hook and color A, ch 50.
Row 1:  2 dc in 4th ch from hook, * 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, 2 dc in next
        chain.  Repeat from * to last ch, 1 dc in last ch, ch 1 turn. Turning
        chain counted as 1 dc. (58 dc.)
Row 2:  Skip the first dc, 1 sc in next dc, * ch 1, sk 1 dc, 1 sc in next dc,
        repeat from * across, ch 3 turn. 29 sc with ch 1 between.
NOTE:   1 sc and ch 1 space counts as 2 sts.
Row 3:  With turning ch as 1 dc, work 2 dc in next ch 1 space, 1 dc in next
        3 sts. * 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next 3 sts, repeat from * across,
        end 1 dc in each of last 4 sts, ch 1, turn. (72 dc) Right side of
        dc'sis right side of work.
Row 4:  Repeat row 2, ch 1, turn. (72 sts)
Row 5:  1 sc in each of first 4 sts, * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next 3 sts.
        Repeat from * across (89 sc). Fasten off.
Row 6:  Join Color B in first st at beginning of Row 5, ch 4 (counts as dc,
        ch 1) st  first sc. * holding back last loop of each dc on hook, dc
        in each of next 3 sts, yo hook and draw through 4 loops oon hook
        (3 dc cluster made), ch 2, repeat from * to within last dc, end ch 1,
        dc in top of last st (29 clusters + 1 dc on each side) ch 1, turn.
Row 7:  Sc in first dc, sc in next space, * sc in each cluster, 2 sc in each
        ch 2 sp, repeat from * across and sc in last cluster, sc in each of
        next 2 ch (89 sts).
Row 8:  Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), sk next sc, *skip next 2 sc, 3 dc in sc, repeat
        from * across, end skip next st, dc in last sc, ch1, turn.
Row 9:  1 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 9 sts, * 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next
        10 sts end sc in last st, ch 3 turn. (97 sc)
Row 10: 1 dc in next 5 sts, 2 dc in next st, * 1 dc in next 4 sts, 2 dc in
        next st, repeat from * across, end 1 dc in each of last 5 sts, ch 1
        turn. (110 sts)
Row 11: 1 sc in first dc (ch 1, sk 1 st, 1 sc in next st) 8 times, ch 1 sk 21
        sts for armhole, 1 sc in next st, (ch 1, sk 1 st, 1 sc in next st) 19
        times,  ch 1, sk 21 sts for armhole, work to end, ch 3, turn.
Row 12: 1 dc in each st, ch 1 turn. (75 dc)
Row 13: 1 sc in first dc, * sc 1, sk 1 st, 1 sc in next st, repeat from *
        across, ch 3 turn.
Repeat Rows 12 & 13  four times more. Fasten off.

SLEEVES:
        With wrong side facing, Join Color B at underarm, work 13 sc with
        ch 1 between around armhole, join with sl st, ch 3 turn. Work 4 rows
        in pattern, joining and turning at the end of each row. Dc row should
        have 26 dc. Fasten off.
EDGING:
        Join Color B on right side of left front edge in first B row. Work
        sc and ch 1 pattern  to lower edge, ch 3, turn, then work 1 dc in
        each st to other front, ch 3 work sc, and ch 1 pattern to match
        other side. Join Color A on right side of right front edge in last
        row of Color A, ch 2, sk 2 rows, sc, ch 2, sk 1 st, sc in next row,
        ch 1, sc in corner sc, work ch 1, sc pattern aroun neck edge and on
        other front of yoke, sl to Color B edging. Fasten off. The ch 2
        spaces are for botton holes. If desired, make buttonholes on other
        front.
CAP:    With Color A, ch 44. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, work 22 sc with
        ch 1 between, across chain, ch 3, turn. Repeat Rows 12 & 13 -2 times.
        Repeat rows 6,7, & 8 once. (14 clusters) Repeat Rows 12 & 13 - 3 times,
        then repeat Row 12 once more, working off last dc with Color B. Break
        off Color A. For Cuff: Repeat Row 13 once, ch 1 turn. Next row:  Work
        sc and ch 1 in each sc across, ch 3 turn.  Reppeat Rows 12 & 13 once
        more. Fasten off. Sew back seam, fold cuff back. With Color B, work
        1 row of sc, ch 1 along neck edge, going through double thickness of
        cuff.  With Color B, Crochet 25" chain, lace through lower edge.
