                            --------------
                    CLUE-1  --  COMMON US KNOWLEDGE
                            --------------

    Nearly every American knows there are 50 states in the US,
    9 players on a baseball team, 10 dimes to a dollar.

    But could you identify them if asked to fill in words to:
    50 = S in the U S      9 = P on a B T      10 = D to a D?

    Try your hand below. We include a clue to the answer (hence
    the name of the game) but beware of puns: clues are pretty
    devious. We once offered a $20 prize to anyone who could
    explain the clue to v. Someone did, and claimed the prize.

    It's been years since I looked at this and I had a devil of a
    time understanding the clue for k. "No cents" made no sense.
    When I figured it out, the reason it made sense years ago and
    doesn't now became obvious. Go to it.
