                   QUICK INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you are installing from the ChronoLog "master" diskette(s), one 3 1/2"
or two 5 1/4" floppy(s), the files are not compressed. Use the
following procedure to install:

      - There should be at least 15 files. See the file PACKING.LST
        for a listing of the minimum files required.

      - Insert the 3 1/2" floppy or 5 1/4" floppy #1 (contains the
        file CLINST.EXE) into a floppy drive.

      - Type CLINST (the ChronoLog System Installation Program). This will
        create a subdirectory on your hard drive and copy the system files
        into it. (If loading from 5 1/4" floppy, you will be prompted to
        insert floppy #2.). CLINIT (the ChronoLog Database Initialization
        Program) will execute automatically.

      - Type CHRONO to execute ChronoLog.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you have the ChronoLog files compressed into a single file (the
file name should be CHRON100.xxx, where xxx = compression extension),
use the following installation procedure:

      - You do not need to run CLINST. Instead make sure that the
        compressed file has been copied to the subdirectory on your
        hard drive wherein you want the ChronoLog system files to reside.

      - Uncompress CHRON100.xxx. If the uncompress is successful,
        you may delete CHRON100.xxx.

      - There should be at least 15 files when uncompressed. See the
        file PACKING.LST for a listing of the minimum files required.

      - Type CLINIT (the ChronoLog Database Initialization Program) to
        initialize a database in the subdirectory where the system files
        reside.

      - Type CHRONO to execute ChronoLog.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
If you have an older version of ChronoLog, and are upgrading with these
files:

      - Simply copy all of the files to your original ChronoLog directory
(database MAIN) on your hard drive. The new versions will overlay the old.

      - Type CHRONO to execute ChronoLog. NOTE: if you are upgrading to
version 1.02 from an earlier version, the first time you execute ChronoLog
you will be asked to execute CLINIT in database MAIN to convert your SETUP.
Just follow the instructions on the screen.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH INSTALLATION, YOU MAY ACCOMPLISH THE
SAME PURPOSE BY:

        - MANUALLY CREATING A SUBDIRECTORY ON YOUR HARD DRIVE

        - COPYING ALL 15 SYSTEM FILES INTO THE SUBDIRECTORY

        - RUNNING CLINIT

        - RUNNING CHRONO
