Availability of Draft Environmental Assessment; Secret Service Headquarters
Building, Washington, DC

Pursuant to section 102(2)(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act of
1969, as implemented by the Council on Environmental Quality regulations (40
CFR part 15001508), the General Services Administration (GSA) has filed with
the Environmental Protection Agency, and made available to other governmental
and private bodies, a Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the proposed
construction of the United States Secret Service (USSS) Headquarters Building
in Washington, DC.

The project proposes the construction of an approximately 461,000 gross square
foot building, with associated parking. The Headquarters Building will house
1,288 employees. The USSS Headquarters currently occupies space in one
Government-owned building and three leased buildings.

Written comments on the DEA may be submitted until February 7, 1994, and
should be addressed to: General Services Administration, Planning Staff (WPL),
