CKUSERS.NLM                 Installation Instructions
Background :
	CKUSERS is a netware loadable module (NLM) written to detect inactive
	users on one or more fileservers. Depending on the command line options
	given CKUSERS will either simply provide a listing of users who appear
	to be inactive or provide a listing and disable the inactive accounts.
	Either way the reports generated should be reviewed daily to determine
	if the indicated accounts are truely inactive or if there is a valid
	reason for their inactivity. In some systems user accounts are set up
	on all company servers even though the user may only routinely access
	one or two of the servers. For this reason all indicated servers are
	checked for activity. If activity is found on any of the servers the
	account is assumed to be active.
Installation :
	Copy the following files to the SYS:SYSTEM directory.
CKUSERS.NLM Netware Loadable Module
CKUSERS.CFG     Configuration file
CKUSERS.PAS     Password file
	Using filer grant full trustee rights to the CKUSERS.PAS file to the
	user SUPERVISOR. This gives any user with supervisor equivalence rights
	to read and write to the password file. Next place an Inherited Rights
	Mask (IRM) on the CKUSERS.PAS file of Supervisor. The inherited rights
	mask determines which rights granted at the directory level pass through
	to the CKUSERS.PAS file. By removing all rights except Supervisor all
	users not explicitly granted rights to the file are locked out of the
	file. Earlier in this step we granted the user SUPERVISOR and
	equivalents explicit rights to this file. This coupled with the IRM
	enable only supervisor and equivalents access to this file. Depending
	on the backup software you use the backup user may need to be granted
	rights to this file as well.
	If any additional servers will be monitored a user must be created on
	that server for access to the bindery. The user must be named CKUSERS
	and must be supervisor equivalent. The user should have a password.
	The password must be recorded in the CKUSERS.PAS file above. This can
	be done using any standard text editor such as EDIT in DOS or NOTEPAD
	in Windows.
	A CKUSERS account is not needed on the default fileserver however the
	CKUSERS.PAS file is needed. It can however be empty if not other
	fileservers will be monitored.
Configuration :
	The following is the CKUSERS.CFG file shipped with CKUSERS.NLM.
DAYS = 30
REPORT = SYS:CKUSERS.REP
SERVER = CS_DEV_2
;SERVER = CS_DEV_312
USER = chip

DAYS = <Number of days of inactivity before reporting >
REPORT = <location and filename where report file should be generated>
SERVER = <Additional servers to monitor >
USER = < Users to ignore inactivity on > Supervisor is ignored by default
; Comment

Password :
	The Password is recorded in plain ASCII text in the CKUSERS.PAS file.
	The password must also be updated on each additional server to be
	monitored. Use SYSCON or SETPASS to change the password on the
	additional servers. Failure to synchronize these passwords will cause
	the NLM to abort unable to login to a fileserver.
