Most software used with Zoom/modems should be set with the

setup STRING for a Hayes Smartmodem 2400. Typically this is

AT&F&C1&D2. If any software has saved a string and uses ATZ for

an init, type AT&F&W in terminal mode to restore to factory

defaults. Then type in a correct string for that software. Use

XON/XOFF flow, or NONE.

If you have a Hi-speed Zoom modem, use the same string. Then

lock DTE BPS 19,200, set CTS/RTS flow. In some cases you also

want S95=1 (to pass true connect speed, default is 0 which passes

DTE connect speed).
