An internal modem does not need a serial cable.

An external pkged specifically for a MAC with MAC software, will

normally include a MAC cable. All new Macs use the same cable.

The manual says a cable MAY be included. An external faxmodem that is

NOT pkged for a MAC will not have a cable, unless ordered specifically that

way by a dealer. An external modem may be used on a PC, which may have

THREE kinds of serial ports. A terminal or other computer may require a

Null-modem cable. Because there are at least 4 kinds of cables, they are

NOT included.
