Here's the latest email installment of Yahoo!'s Picks of the
Week. Thank you for your interest in our feature. As always you can
access these picks online at:

But soft! What light through yonder window breaks? Is it the east? Or
is it (on the other hand) an amazing collection of Shakespeare's
Sonnets, collected on the web? A site that includes all 154 poems,
which you can read by number or by searching for keywords? The Thorpe
Quarto edition with audio readings of selected sonnets? As it happens,
it's the latter. Go figure. And this? This is our latest selection of
Picks. But you already know that. Welcome.

This week, thanks to Joanna Land, we learned how to become an
interesting person. It's rather simple, really. But then again, you
always miss the obvious. Amongst other things, Miss Joanna advised us
to: Do Stuff. (We did). Tell good stories. (We tried). Be
well-rounded. (Didn't even bother with this one). Learn some
trivia. (See: Trash Cans of Disney as evidence). Have a cocktail or
two. (Sure thing). We learned that "interesting people are interested"
and that "if you're bored, you're probably boring." We felt so good
about ourselves afterwards, we decided that there was really only one
thing left to do: Throw a Swank Cocktail Party. Thank you, Miss
Joanna.

Totally, utterly, completely unrelated news: The next time you're
planning a road trip in the U.S., make the AutoPilot Highway Trip
Routing System one of your first stops. Punch in cities and states of
departure and arrival, route preferences (direct, scenic, or scenic in
just one state), enroute facilities (hotels, restaurants, points of
interest) and AutoPilot will produce a "personalized and
comprehensive" itinerary of your trip. We tried it and found it
nothing short of amazing. AutoPilot will send you your itinerary if
you enter your email address. Results include miles covered and
accumulated time. We learned that if we ever decided to drive
(non-stop!) from San Francisco to Mclean, Virginia, it would take us,
oh, forty-three hours and forty-five minutes. Give or take a couple
minutes here and there for gas and sodas.

Don't like road trips? What? You'd prefer to send a dollar to the
Amazing Send Me a Dollar Website? Fine. Go ahead. It makes cents.

If you do indeed plan on a road trip in the near future, or if you
just took one, we feel it our duty to mention WorldEye News' Alien
Influence Test - what with all those empty country roads between here
and... well, between here and wherever it is you're going/or went. We
have your own best interests at heart. See, the folks at WorldEye News
use results generated by the highly scientific "hyper-temporal quantum
server" to prove that aliens are among us. You can peruse their "25
Most Wanted List" (people suspected of being under alien control and
who should be considered dangerous to the human race) or take the test
yourself. Know that the test includes a bit of DNA analysis, but don't
worry it doesn't hurt. The Alien Influence Test is part of the general
wackiness you can find at Glamorama Online.

Finally, a few words about our favorite television chef, Martin
Yan. As we all know, Yan Can Cook. You might even say he put the Fun
back into Chow Fun. If you'd like to, you might also say he put the
Jing back into Hot and Sour BeiJING Dumplings. And the Zling in
SizZLING Oysters and Mussels. Or the Rimp in Hot & Sour ShRIMP
Soup. But you don't need to say it, we already did. Amongst its other
features Yan's new site includes recipes for these tasty dishes and
more. So, where does that leave you? With only this, maybe: what to
make for dinner.... Whatever you go with, we suggest you save space
for the Ginger-Date Wontons as dessert. Yum. Lick your lips. Take your
pick(s).
