Armored Fist Tech Notes #1, November 30, 1994

>> Game Detail Control appears not to work
The detail control will adjust the amount of shimmer. If you
are not moving AND looking at the ground you may not notice
any difference. High Detail will shimmer less, but run at
	a slightly slower frame rate.

The game loading messages are Standard Detail, High Detail, and
Super Detail. This is automatic detail based on the amount of
free XMS memory you have. 2.5 Megs XMS will give Standard Detail,
5 Megs XMS will give High Detail, and 11 Megs XMS will give Super
Detail. The automatic detail controls how blocky the ground looks,
but does not otherwise affect framerate or gameplay. Super Detail
	may increase loading time.

>> The game loads slowly
If you have the CD version of Armored Fist, try reinstalling with
the largest install option. Even an average hard drive is many
times faster that a double-spin CD-ROM drive. If you have 11 megs
of XMS free, the message SUPER DETAIL will appear while loading.
Super Detail may also increase loading time.

>> Palette looks wrong
>> Terrain shows as large blocks or garbage
>> Tanks and trees look like big blocks and/or have wrong palette
>> Game reboots on exit

Check for EMM386 with RAM followed by a number
		Remove the number!

>> Game won't load, locks up in LOADGAME
>> Game won't load with SMARTDRV loaded

Add the -S switch to LOADGAME as follows
	EDIT F.BAT to read "LOADGAME -S -K400,0,1000 -X5000 FIST.RUN"

>> SOUNDSET aborts with an error

Check your AUTOEXEC.BAT for SET BLASTER = A220..., move this
line to the start of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file or remove all lines
	with BLASTER

>> Game doesn't have digital sound effects

Make sure you've choosen the correct IRQ and DMA. With the PAS16,
use the Sound Blaster settings and not the main PAS16 IRQ/DMA.
Make sure that the Sound Card Drivers are loading.

>> I've gotten the right IRQ/DMA and the game still doesn't produce sound!

Some computers will not produce sound with the current version of
Armored Fist. The problem is not related to the Sound Card or the
system configuration. You need to download AFCD14.EXE or
AFFD14.EXE to update your copy of ARMORED FIST CD or ARMORED FIST
	FLOPPY.

>> Mouse will move on only half of screen

You need to download AFCD14.EXE or AFFD14.EXE to update your copy
of ARMORED FIST CD or ARMORED FIST FLOPPY.
