TITLE: Definable Space Character (Enhancement)
PRODUCT: WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS

Enhancement
You can define a display character for a space, similar to the
display character for a hard return.

Concept
Previous versions of WordPerfect only allowed you to define a
display character for hard returns. With WordPerfect 6.0 for
DOS, you can also define a character for spaces. This character
can be any WordPerfect character you want to use.

How Do I Use It?
To define the space character,

1 Choose Screen Setup from the View menu, or press Screen
     (Ctrl+F3), then choose Setup (Shift+F1).

2 Choose Display Characters (2), then Space Character (2).

You may select a character from the WordPerfect Characters menu
while in this menu. For a complete list of the available
characters, refer to Appendix A: Character Sets of the
WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS reference manual.

3 Choose WP Characters from the Font menu, or press WP
     Characters (Shift+F11 or Ctrl+W).

4 Type the desired character number. For this example, to
change the space to an arrow, type 5,220.

5 Choose OK twice to return to the document editing screen.

To delete the space character,

1 Choose Screen Setup from the View menu, or press Screen
     (Ctrl+F3), then choose Setup (Shift+F1).

2 Choose Display Characters (2), then Space Character (2).

3 Press Delete, then choose OK twice.
