With WP 6.0
PRODUCT: WordPerfect 5.1/6.0 for DOS

This document contains a list of popular WordPerfect Magazine
macros created for WordPerfect 5.1 that are now included as
features or shipping macros in WordPerfect 6.0. This document
also explains how to use each of these features or macros in 6.0.
The name of the 5.1 macro as it first appeared is the heading for
each section.

ALTX.WPM
This macro is now called EXITALL.WPM, or ALTX.WPM on the
MACROS.WPK keyboard that ships with WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS. The
macro exits you from any subscreen or dialog box to the main
editing screen. You can be several layers deep in dialog boxes,
and this macro will close everything and return you to the main
editing screen.

1 Select the Macros keyboard by pressing Setup (Shift+F1),
      then choosing Keyboard Layout (4).

2 Highlight MACROS.

3 Choose Select (1), then choose Close.

4 From any subscreen or dialog box, press Alt+X to return to a
      document screen.

This macro was first published in "Tips," September '93, p. 72.

APPEND.WPM
You don't need a macro to append files in WordPerfect 6.0;
appending files has become one of the built-in functions.

1 Press File Manager (F5), then choose the directory you want
      to use.

2 Use an asterisk to mark the files you want appended.

3 Choose Retrieve into Current Doc (2).

You will be asked if you want to retrieve the marked files.

4 Type Y to answer Yes.

The files will be retrieved to the document screen in the order
they appear in File Manager.

This macro was first published in "Tips," June '91, p. 83.

WordPerfect 6.0. To use this new macro,

You now have the option of selecting the default bullet or
changing the bullet style and having it inserted in your
document.

FONT.WPM
The task of this macro is now incorporated into WordPerfect's
Search and Replace feature. This new feature allows you, as did
FONT.WPM, to search for a particular font and replace it with
another size and type of font.

1 Press Replace (Alt+F2).

2 With your cursor in the Search For dialog box, press
Specific Codes (Shift+F5), then type font.

3 When the code is highlighted, press Enter.

4 Scroll to the font you want to replace in the Search For
      dialog box and press Enter.

5 Scroll to the font you want to replace in the Replace With
      dialog box and press Enter.

6 Choose OK, then choose Replace (F2).

The Search and Replace Complete dialog box appears. It displays
how many occurrences of the font were found.

7 Choose OK to replace the fonts.

This macro was first published in "In Search of Fonts," January
'91, p. 19.

FONTS.WPM
This macro, now called ALLFONTS.WPM, is included with WordPerfect
6.0. It prints a list of your available fonts in their
respective typefaces.

To run this macro,

1 From a clear document screen, press Macro (Alt+F10).

2 Type allfonts and press Enter.

A dialog box appears that allows you to track the progress of the
macro as it shows each of the fonts. When all of the fonts have
been recorded, they will display in a new document screen. You
can print and save this document.

This macro was first published in "Fonts at Your Fingertips,"
March '92, p. 38.

INITCAP.WPM
This macro is now called INITCAPS.WPM, and it ships with
WordPerfect 6.0. It capitalizes the first letter of the word at
the cursor position.

1 Place your cursor on the word you want capitalized.

2 Press Macro (Alt+F10).

3 Type initcaps and press Enter.

Only the word your cursor is on will be capitalized.

JOIN.WPM
The tasks this macro performed are now a feature in WordPerfect
6.0. This macro allows you to join two tables when one
immediately follows the other. This feature will work only if
there are no hard returns separating the two tables and if the
tables have the same number of columns.

1 Place your cursor in the first table and press
      Columns/Tables (Alt+F7).

2 Choose Tables (2), then Join (3).

This macro was first published in "Connect the Tables," November
'92, p. 31.

VIEW.WPM, VIEWER.WPM
The tasks of these macros are now incorporated into a feature of
WordPerfect 6.0. You can now view any graphic from File Manager.
You first need to find out where your graphic files are located.

1 Press Setup (Shift+F1), then choose Location of Files (5).
Note the path next to Graphics Files (6).

3 Press File Manager (F5), then type the directory where the
      graphics are located.

4 Highlight the graphic you wish to view and choose Look (3).

5 Press Exit (F7) to close the view.

You can view another graphic or press Exit (F7) to return to the
document screen.
