SUBJECT:	File Conversion Troubleshooting Guide

File Conversion is an area that is not well understood by most users.  It
entails detecting a source file format, formatting the codes contained in
that file, and replacing them with the codes and a format recognized by the
target file type.  Once a file is converted, there is no way to determine
which file format it was converted from.  Please include as much
information as possible, in all areas.

TROUBLESHOOTING 
1.	Where did the file to be converted originate?
2.	What is the file to be converted detected as? 
3.	Can the problem be duplicated on another machine?
4.	Check list of codes that will convert in the conversion
        documnetation files
5.	How does the file convert from the native word processor?

Note:  If the you are having a problem in the International version of
the product, try duplicating the problem in the latest US version of the
product.  If you can duplicate the problem in the US version, put the US
date as the date of the product when writing an STR.

        (i.e., WordStar 6.0 document) 
2.	Specific steps taken for the conversion 
3.	Specific problems with the conversion

MATERIALS TO BE SENT IN WITH AN STR 
1.	The preconverted file
2.	A hard copy of the problem in the converted file and/or a hard copy
        of how the file should look.
