TITLE: Printing Sideways on a Non-Laser Printer (Enhancement)
PRODUCT: WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS

Enhancement
You can print sideways (landscape mode) on a dot matrix, inkjet,
or any other printer that cannot rotate text or graphics by
itself, without having to turn the paper.

Concept
Several types of printers cannot print in landscape. However,
WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS allows you to print rotated text on your
printer. Earlier versions of WordPerfect relied on the printer
to rotate the text. WordPerfect 6.0 rotates the text internally
before sending it to the printer, which allows your printer to
print text in landscape mode. The codes are sent to the printer
as if they were portrait codes.

If you are printing on a laser printer, the Letter (Landscape)
paper size/type will automatically print landscape.

How Do I Use It?
To force your printer to print in landscape mode,

1 Choose Page from the Layout menu, or press Format (Shift+F8)
         then choose Page (3).

2 Choose Paper Size/Type (4), then choose Create (2).

3 Type Landscape as the paper name, then press Enter.

4 Choose Orientation (6). Scroll down the list until
         Landscape Font is highlighted.

5 Press Enter, then choose OK.

6 Make sure that the paper size/type you just created is
         highlighted, then choose Select (1).

7 Choose OK, then choose Close to return to your document.

Now type some text in your document, then print it. WordPerfect
will rotate the document and print it sideways on the printer.
