TITLE: Number of Columns Increased (Enhancement)
PRODUCT: WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS

Enhancement
You can now use up to 64 columns in one table.

Concept
WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS allows a maximum of 64 columns within the
same table; WordPerfect 5.1 had a limit of 32 columns.
If you try to use more than 64 columns in a table, WordPerfect
will truncate the table to 64 columns.

If your Paper Size/Type is set to Portrait, the columns will be
very narrow and hard to use. The 64 columns will appear more
readable if you set the Paper Size/Type to Landscape.

On an 8" by 11" sheet of paper, this many columns may seem
unnecessary. However, if you were to use larger paper and set
the Paper Size/Type to Landscape, this feature would provide an
excellent spreadsheet.

How Do I Use It?
For this example, create a table with 64 columns.

First, set the paper type to Landscape.

1 Choose Page from the Layout menu, or press Format (Shift+F8)
         and choose Page (3).

2 Choose Paper Size/Type (4).

3 Highlight Letter (Landscape), then choose Select (1).

4 Choose OK, then choose Close to return to the document
         editing screen.

Now, create a table.

5 Choose Tables from the Layout menu then choose Create, or
press Columns/Tables (Alt+F7) then choose Tables (2), then
         Create (1).

6 Type 64 for the number of columns and press Enter, then type
5 for the number of rows and press Enter.

7 Choose OK.

You are at the Table Edit screen. You may make any modifications
to the table at this screen.

8 Press Exit (F7) to return to the document editing screen.

You can view the table you have created using Print Preview.

1 Choose Print/Fax from the File menu, or press Print/Fax
         (Shift+F7).

2 Choose Print Preview (7).
