TITLE: Threshold Point Size Explained For HP LaserJet+ or
          Compatible Printers
PRODUCT: WordPerfect 6.0 for DOS

Problem
You do not understand what the threshold point size is and how it
works.

Concept
The threshold point size is used when graphics fonts are printed
on a PCL4 (or above) printer. The threshold point size is the
point that determines whether the graphics fonts will be sent to
the printer as temporary soft fonts or as rasterized bitmap
graphics. When printing below the threshold point size, the font
will be sent to the printer as a temporary soft font. When
printing above the threshold point size, the font will be
rasterized and sent to the printer as a bitmap graphics image.
Printing the graphics fonts as temporary soft fonts will increase
print speed.

If you do not want your graphics fonts sent to the printer as
soft fonts, set the threshold point size to a number that is
below the point size you have specified for your graphics fonts.
For example, if you use 12-point fonts in your documents, change
the threshold point size to 11 or lower. Most customers set the
threshold point size to 0 or 1 in this situation.

You may need to lower the threshold point size to print graphic
fonts if you are using a printer that has a limitation on the
number of soft fonts that can be downloaded.

Solution
To change the threshold point size,

1 Choose Print/Fax from the File menu, or press Print/Fax
     (Shift+F7).

2 Choose Setup (Shift+F1).

3 Choose Threshold Point Size (9).

4 Type the new threshold point size and press Enter.

5 Choose OK, then choose Close to return to the document
     editing screen.
