	   PRESIDENT CLINTON APPOINTS FOUR MEMBERS TO THE 
	COMMITTEE FOR PURCHASE FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE BLIND OR 
			 SEVERELY DISABLED

     The President today announced his intention to appoint Evelyne
Villines, Gary Krump, Leonard Vincent and Donald Wedewer as members
to the Committee for Purchase from People who are Blind or Severely
Disabled.

     The Committee For Purchase From People Who are Blind or
Severely Disabled determines fair market prices for commodities and
services offered for sale to the Federal government by nonprofit
agencies employing persons who are blind or have other severe
disabilities.  These activities serve the Committee's primary
mission of increasing employment and training opportunities to help
prepare these workers for competitive employment.  The Committee
also assists Federal agencies to expand procurement from
participating organizations.

EVELYNE VILLINES of Iowa
     Ms. Villines is the Chairperson of the Family Support
Committee of Children and Families of Iowa and a member of the
advisory committee of the Metropolitan Transit Authority.  She was
inducted into the National Hall of Fame for Persons with
Disabilities.

LEONARD VINCENT of Virginia
     Rear Admiral Leonard Vincent is the Deputy Director,
Acquisition for the Defense Logistics Agency and Commander, Defense
Contract Management Command.

DONALD H. WEDEWER of Florida
     Mr. Wedewer retired after 15 years as the Director of
Florida's Division of Blind Services.  Mr. Wedewer continues to
serve his community as a Board member on the Council of State
Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation, Florida Governors
Committee on Employment of the Handicapped, and other like
organizations.

GARY J. KRUMP of Maryland
     Mr. Krump is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisition
and Material Management at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
