Game Runner! 1.0
by Joe DeRouen

Does Wing Commander 3 run slowly on your nice, shiny Pentium
system? Ever get a "not enough memory" message when trying to boot up
Doom II? Do you have to use a boot disk to run Doom? Quarterdeck's
Game Runner all but assures that you'll never have to deal with any of
these problems again.

Essentially, Game Runner contains four programs: QEMM Game Edition,
Manifest memory utility, Aldridge Cache86, and Axis the Gamecheater.
These versions of QEMM and Manifest are virtually identical to the
programs in QEMM 7.5 with only a few minor differences; and the package
does include the option of upgrading to 7.5 for a nominal fee. The
cache program works much like any other disk caching software. Programs
that would normally have to access the hard disk or CD-ROM are instead
routed through RAM, saving considerable time and greatly improving
system speed.

Game Runner really shines with the fourth part of it's offerings,
Axis the Gamecheater. With Axis, you get near god-like control over the
games you play. With the touch of a button, you can add time to a game,
give yourself more lives, or even jump to harder levels. As long as the
game is supported by Axis, you'll have no problem whatsoever getting the
control you need.

Unfortunately, not all games are supported. Moreover, Axis' Game
Enhancement Modules are custom designed not only for a particular game,
but for a particular version of that game. Since version 2 of your
favorite game probably has some major changes from version 1, Axis may
not work with some (or even all!) of the options.

Still, the 1-2-3 punch of Game Runner will improve your game
playing time tremendously. Using QEMM, I was able to add about 40k to
my available RAM. The cache increased response time of most of my games
by a noticeable margin. And Axis let me actually win Heretic by giving
me full health whenever I wanted it, doubling my firepower, and giving
me complete access to all the available weapons. I got to kill monsters
and the "not enough memory" message all in the same day. When's the
last time that happened? List Price: $59.95. Quarterdeck,
