                Destiny

I shall rise again to a night of wonders.

         Galileo, Mercury, Andromeda, Sol
a world unbroken, a story untold
What vastness lies beyond the fold
of the ebony, inky starry whole

I shall view again and count the stars and learn their names.

Like Twain, I'm born & die on Halley's heel
Who knows what passion will reveal
The universe, and conscience are my weal
an infinite reflection; a mirror still.

I shall trace the comet's breath on my sleeve and smile.

         Such strange and haunting melodies
that blossum in my soul with ease
         An echo from the Plaeides
         a harkening of old - a symphony
