 Suicide

 Dark child, a dreamer
such subtleties of life you never knew.
 Tears, hollow against the grain,
 trace old familiar paths
 crouching down beside the wall
 The dust and cinder flared.
 Serious eyes, a baleful glance
greet only those who choose to stop
and notice what else is lying there
 Do you remember
the years before the pain began?
Was there a moment of peace
before the storm you call your life
 began?
 A grim expression gazes 'round
 searching for an out.
Joy and hope and thoughts of god
 are buried in your heart.
 Twice before you opened up
 and laid your body bare.
Scars and blades and idle vice
were all that found you waiting there.
 There in darkness
another dream, a darkened child's sigh
 curled up in calm repose
 curiosity aroused, nothing more
as dreams and tears and years of pain
 seep slowly to the floor.
