Missing the Boat
by Janice Kusin

It is not so much that the boat slipped past and, perhaps
tying your shoes, you failed to notice it.
It is more like you remained reading on your packed trunk.
ticket pressed between the pages of your book.
Or it is like you tossed a tablecloth over that trunk, and sat down
	for lunch.

Maybe you thought to go by plane.
