WHAT IS SERANDOM SCREENSAVER
----------------------------

Serandom ScreenSaver is a screensaver manager, or randomizer, for Windows 95.
It allows you to organize your screensavers into different collections. Within
a collection, each screensaver can have specified how often it is to run, and
for how long each time. Serandom will then run these screensavers at random
according to your specifications.

INSTALLATION
------------

Windows 95

1. From the folder you have decompressed into, copy the file serandom.scr
into your windows\system folder, usually c:\windows\system.

2. Click on Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.

3. Double click on the Display icon.

4. Click on the Screensaver tab.

5. In the Screen Saver list, select Serandom.

6. Press Settings to display registration and support details, and access
   configuration options.

IMPORTANT - Serandom also needs the Visual Basic 4 32-bit runtime libraries.
You may already have these files on your system, as they are required by any
program written using Microsoft Visual Basic. You can use Explorer to check
for these files, which should be in your Windows\System folder:

VB40032.DLL, VEN2232.OLB, OLEPRO32.DLL, MSCVCRT20.DLL, MSCVCRT40.DLL,
CTL3D32.DLL.

If you do not have these files, then Serandom will not run. The VB4 runtimes
are available for free download (apart from your connect charges) from a
variety of sources, including Serandom's web page:
http://www.ozemail.com.au/~porum/serandom.htm.

They are also available from WinSite and its mirror sites:
http://www.winsite.com/info/pc/win95/programr/vbasic/vbrun400.zip.

SETTINGS OPTIONS
----------------

Serandom initally displays all the screensavers in your Windows and
Windows\System folders in a list on the left, called Available Screensavers.
You can move any of these into the right-hand list, called Selected
Screensavers. These selected screensavers become part of the collection named
above the lists, and the initial collection is named Default.

Screensavers can be moved from Available to Selected by using the buttons
marked > and >>. The button marked >> moves ALL screensavers over, and the
button marked > moves all the screensavers over that you have highlighted. You
can highlight more than one at a time by using the Shift or Control buttons
with the mouse. You can also move a single screensaver over by double-clicking
on it.

Screensavers can be moved back from Selected to Available by using the buttons
marked < and <<. Pressing << moves all screensavers back to Available, and <
moves the highlighted screensaver back. Only one screensaver at a time can be
highlighted in the Selected List, as the parameters for the highlighted
screensaver are displayed.

The parameters for the screensaver highlighted in the Selected list are
Frequency abd Duration. The Frequency allows you tyo select how often this
screensaver will be run by Serandom relative to the other selected
screensavers. The Frequency options are Very High, High, Medium, Low and Very
Low. The Duration can also be set, and this is the number of minutes the
screensaver will run before Serandom automatically stops it and starts
another.

If your screensavers are using password protection, then the duration cannot
be used because if Serandom stopped the screensaver running, it would not stop
until you entered the password. So Serandom has an option "Using SCreensaver
Passwords". If this is selected, then when Serandom starts up, it will select
one of the screensavers according to the frequencies, but it will just let it
run until you manually stop it.

The collection that Serandom uses to choose the screensavers from is the last
one shown in the collection list when you finally click OK. Your screensavers
may belong to more than one collection, and can have a different frequency and
duration in each collection. To add a new collection, click on the New button.
You will be asked for the name of the new collection, and the the list of
Available screensavers will be filled with an empty Selected list, ready for
you to create a new collection.

To remove a collection, click on the Delete button. The Default collection
cannot be deleted.

REGISTRATION & BENEFITS
-----------------------

Serandom ScreenSaver is time-limited "try before you buy" software, and is

the code.

Your support through registration is appreciated and will encourage the
development of additional features.

These prices and conditions are valid until 31st January 1999 for this version,
Prices are subject to change with future versions.

If you have already paid a fee to others (eg disk or CD vendors) to obtain
this evaluation copy, that fee was for their copying and distribution
services, rather than a payment for continued use of the program, and the
software author does not receive any part of that fee.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS
--------------------

Credit card payments may be made directly to Seraline, using VISA, Mastercard,
or Australian Bankcard. A printable order form in MS Write format is in the
file order.wri, which can then be faxed or mailed to Seraline. An order form
can also be printed from the Control Panel Setup screen. The details required

date and your signature. These details can be mailed, or faxed to Seraline in
Australia +61-2-9879-4481.

When ordering directly from Seraline, credit cards are billed at exactly
$12.95 Australian. For other currencies, the amount appearing on your card
will depend on the foreign exchange rate at the time. For example, at rates
current in January 1997, this converts to an amount varying around US$9.95.

EMAIL REGISTRATION
------------------

Due to the number of different computers messages pass through on the
internet, email security can be a concern.

We support PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) encryption for sending credit card
details securely by email. To receive our public key, send an email message
to porum@ozemail.com.au with "send public key" as the subject. On receipt of
our key, create a text message containing your name, credit card type (VISA,
Mastercard, or Australian Bankcard), credit card number and expiry date. Use
the separately available PGP software package to encrypt the message, and
email it to porum@ozemail.com.au.

If you don't have PGP, you may like to split the details over several
email messages. Avoid mention of words like "credit card", and use an
abbreviation for the credit card type, eg V for Visa or M for Mastercard.
Send the expiry date in a separate message, and split the card number over
several messages, but ensure there is some sequence number that makes it
obvious to us what the sequence is.

Emailing credit card details using any method is at your own risk.
