1.0     Introduction

This ZIP file contains the latest ATI Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display 
driver.  This driver should be used if you experience any difficulties 
with the driver provided on the Microsoft Windows 95 CDROM or if you wish 
to access the new features provided by this driver.

2.0     Installation Notes

1. Ensure that you have a copy of PKUNZIP.EXE, v1.10 or later.  PKUNZIP is 
available on most BBS and information services, including the ATI BBS and 
CompuServe.

2. Start Windows 95. 

3. Start a MS DOS prompt.

4. Unzip 64W95201.ZIP into a temporary directory on your hard disk.  For 
example:

MD \ATITEMP
PKUNZIP 64W95201.ZIP \ATITEMP

5. Exit the MS DOS prompt, and return to the Windows 95 desktop.

The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver is a Windows 95 mini driver.  
It is installed and configured using the standard Windows 95 configuration 
utilities. 
 
6. Click on the Start button. Click on the Run menu item. 

Type C:\ATITEMP\SETUP.EXE in the text entry area. Press OK.

7. Follow the instructions displayed in the help.  The help refers to
installation from a floppy disk. If you Unzipped 64W95201.ZIP into a
temporary directory, specify that directory in place of A:\WIN95 or B:\WIN95.
									  
NOTE: If you have not already configured your monitor type do so now. 
In the PROPERTIES - SETTINGS PAGE - CHANGE DISPLAY TYPE -
Monitor Type area, click the Change... button and select the appropriate 
monitor.  Click OK to apply your changes. 
 
Click Close to return to the Settings page. Click "Close" or "Apply" 
to initiate your changes. 
 
8. Restart the computer to run Windows 95 using this new driver. 
 
9. Once the driver has been installed, you can delete the contents of the 
temporary directory (DEL \ATITEMP\*.*) and delete the directory itself (RD 
\ATITEMP).  

10. We recommend that you keep a copy of the ZIP file, 64W95201.ZIP, in 
case you need to install the driver again.

3.0     Changing Color Depth, Resolution and/or Font Sizes 

When Windows 95 is up, you may configure your color depth, resolution 
and/or font size in the Display Properties sheet as follows.  
 
1. Click the right mouse button in an empty area of the desktop and select 
Properties.   
 
2. On the Settings page of the Display Properties sheet, choose your 
preferred color support, resolutions for desktop / screen and font size. 
Click "OK" or "Apply" to initiate your changes. 
 
3. On the Adjustment Page of the Display Properties sheet, you may further 
customize your display.  
 
Note that these values reflect the monitor configuration you performed  
using the Settings page - Change Display Type - Monitor Type.  
 
4. Click Apply or OK to switch to the new setting. 

Note: Windows 95 will require a re-start to implement certain display 
      settings changes.

4.0     mach64 Enhanced Windows 95 Driver Features
 
The Windows 95 mach64 enhanced display driver supports the following 
additional features: 

Display Properties Pages;

- Settings Page adds DeskTop Schemes saved under a user specified name 
recalled by Hotkeys.

- Panning Page associates hotkeys for Virtual DeskTop navigation.

- Screen Adjustment Page adjusts the size and position of the screen image 
along with the timing and refresh rate data for the current display mode. 

- Color correction Page displays a full color map allowing adjustment of 
either Red, Green, Blue colors using a "spline control".

- The ATI Taskbar Menu appears at the right side of the taskbar (like the 
clock, modem or sound controls). From this menu the user can select a 
resolution scheme, select a color map scheme, go to the ATI panels, invoke 
the ATI guide or invoke the ATI problem report wizard. 

To invoke the display control panel click the right mouse button in an 
empty area of the desktop and select the Properties entry.


Device Configuration Page;

The ATI Display Adapter Settings page is added to the Adapter Properties 
sheet to provide low level hardware configuration.  

1. To invoke the ATI Adapter Settings page activate the System applet in 
the Control Panel.
   
2. Select the Device Manager tab. 

3. Double-click the Display adapters item in the list. 

4. Double-click the ATI display card entry.

5. Select the Settings tab.

These settings do not come into effect until after the system is rebooted.
