NetWare HostPrint 1.1

ABSTRACT:

PTF 447 is part of the PTF 445 series for HostPrint 1.1.  If HostPrint is
installed on a NetWare 4.0x server, please download PTF 447 together with PTF
445 and PTF 448.  If HostPrint is installed on a NetWare 3.x server, you do
not need PTF 447.

SYMPTOM

     Only 57 print jobs can be created.

SOLUTION

     Apply the PTF 445 series.

     Installation Instructions:

     1.   Create a directory on the server called PATCH.

     2.   Create the following three subdirectories under the PATCH directory:

               DISK1
               DISK2
               DISK3
               DISK4

     3.   Unzip PTF445.EXE into the DISK1 subdirectory.

     4.   Unzip PTF446.EXE into the DISK2 subdirectory.

     5.   Unzip PTF447.EXE into the DISK3 subdirectory.

     6.   Unzip PTF448.EXE into the DISK4 subdirectory.

     7.   The server must be active; however, COMMEXEC.NLM must not be
          running.

          a.   Issue the UNLOAD HOSTPRT (If already loaded) command.
          b.   Issue the CSDOWN command.
          c.   Issue the UNLOAD COMMEXEC command.
          d.   Load Install.
          e.   Select the "Products" option.
          f.   Press the INSert key.
          g.   Enter the correct path to the DISK1 directory, the Install
               program will install the appropriate files from DISK2 or DISK3
               directory as applicable.

               For example:

                    SYS:\PATCH\DISK1

               INSTALL will inform you when installation of the PTF series is
               complete.

     8.   Verify installation of the PTF 445 series using the following steps:

          a.   Load Install.
          b.   Select the "Products" option.
          c.   Make sure HostPrint is now at Version 1.10.8.

     9.   Log in to the NetWare HostPrint server as ADMIN.  Ensure you are in
          the same Bindery Context as the file server where HostPrint is
          installed.

     10.  Follow the configuration procedure outlined in the NetWare HostPrint
          1.1 Administration Guide and the Quick Configuration card that apply
          to NetWare 4.0 users.

          a.   PRINTDEF: Refer to the NetWare HostPrint Administration Guide,
               starting on page 2-19, STEP NO.4 and follow the program
               prompts.
     
          b.   PRINTCON: Refer to the NetWare HostPrint Administration Guide,
               starting on page 2-23 and follow the program prompts.

     11.  If you will be managing HostPrint from within Windows, read the
          information in the PTF448.TXT file.

     IMPORTANT NOTES:

          The PRINTDEF database file is called PRINTDEF.DAT and is created in
          the SYS:\PUBLIC subdirectory when PRINTDEF is executed.

          The PRINTCON database file is called PRINTJOB.DAT and is created in
          the SYS:\PUBLIC subdirectory when PRINTCON is executed.

          After installing this PTF, you will be required to log in as ADMIN
          to any server to which you want to send HostPrint print files.

     Patch History:

     The PTF 445 series is the first HostPrint 1.1 patch.
