SYMPTOM

After updating the VLM's to version 1.20, upon giving the command NET
DOWN, the user will receive an error message. Depending on the DOS
version, the message will either indicate a error reading the network
or a file sharing error. The user will have to choose to Abort,
Retry, or Fail. Retry does not help; abort or fail will get the user
back to a prompt, and the server will be down (as it should).
SOLUTION

SOLUTION

Customers experiencing this problem should install the IPXNCP.VLM
v1.41 which fixes this problem. The IPXNCP.VLM can be found in the
Personal NetWare Field Test File NETDWN.EXE. NETDWN.EXE can be found
on the Novell DeskTop BBS @ 801-221-5197 (look under FILE, then
Personal NetWare), or it can be found on CompuServe in NOVLIB10.

Download the file into a separate subdirectory (i.e.
C:\NWCLIENT\FT_VLM) and run the NETDWN executable to extract it's
contents. Read the README.TXT file for installation instructions.
After the updated VLM has been installed, the machine should either
be re-booted or the VLM's unload and reload (VLM U, then VLM) to load
the new IPXNCP.VLM.

SPD #86668 is resolved with this patch.
