WELCOME TO PITTSBURGH

__________________________________________________

Pittsburgh produces more steel than any other city
in the world. Flames from its great steel furnaces
cast a red glow across the sky that may be seen miles
away. The sight is especially spectacular at night,
and has given Pittsburgh the nickname of the "Hearth
of the Nation." Both the Allegheny and the Monongahela
Rivers meet to form the Ohio River at Point State
Park in downtown Pittsburgh, we call it the "Golden
Triangle." Pittsburgh is our nation's largest river
port. It handles over 54 million tons of freight a
year along its 27 miles of waterfront. Much of the
coal, iron ore, and other heavy freight comes on long
boat tows, usually made up of a dozen flat barges.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS:

Pittsburgh was designed to be a stand-alone scenery.
If you have ISSEast you must delete the Pittsburgh
International Airport from ISSEast. If you have
FS5.1CD, you must take the CD out of the player
before choosing Pittsburgh from the AIRPORT selection.
Take the CD out of the carriage before starting FS5 is
how I do it. Perhaps someone will make an exclude file
for this program so you don't have to do this.
Leaving the CD in the carriage will automatically,
via of its program, add another Pittsburgh airport
to the area. You'll end up with two mismatched
airports with conflicting nav aides. This scenery was
designed using the FS5.1CD program, without the CD in
the player, without the booster. It's simple, to use
this scenery just don't have another Pittsburgh
airport loaded.....! Man, was that long.

ENHANCEMENT CHARACTERISTICS: This scenery includes
three different airports in the Pittsburgh area. You
should choose "International RW 10C" as your starting
point to become familiar with the program. RW 10C
has been made the active runway, contains dynamic
scenery, and houses the 3 Rivers Airways Ramp and
hanger area. Upon choosing any starting airport,
be sure to TURN ON YOUR DYNAMIC SCENERY......!!!
If you don't see any dynamic scenery right away,
you will by the time you return to PIA.

NAV AIDS:
Communications/twr/atis 119.10 mhz (preset)
VOR at International 110.00 mhz (preset nav1)
ILS RW 28C 110.30 mhz (preset on nav2)
ILS RW 10C 111.70 mhz (not preset)

NIGHT FLYING: Pittsburgh takes on a VERY special
characteristic at night. Special night colors were used
to represent a visual experience at dusk, dawn, and
at night. You'll enjoy Pittsburgh just as much
by planning to fly in or out at night. Check out
the red hue from the smokestacks, the lighted
stadium with all the people, and Point State Park. All
airports are lighted with either strobes or flashers.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1) Install files that end with .bgl into your
fltsim5\scenery directory.

2) Install all files that end with .oav
into your fltsim5\texture directory.

NOTE: If your computer tells you that a texture file
already exists on your hard drive, just delete the one
included with this file, you already have what is needed.

OTHER STUFF:

I hope you enjoy flying Pittsburgh. I just love it.
I invite you to share this scenery with your friends
as long as no fee is charged. I'm just about finished
creating Pittsbugh during a snowy winter to go with
this file. Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
Airport 117 and Scasm were used to create this file.
