                    Greetings Newsletter Readers!

Ŀ The obligation of the poet . . . of the writer is: _to
take personal and active responsibility for his words,
whatever they are, and to acknowledge their potential
influence on the lives of others_. . . . When words
penetrate deep into us they change the chemistry of the
soul, of the imagination. We have no right to do that to
people if we don't share the consequences. "The Poet in
the World," Denise Levertov (NY: New Directions,
      paperback, 1973), p. 114.

So many underestimate the magical power of "mere" words . . .

[NOTE: Many thanks to Joseph Nagayra of Poetry In Motion BBS for
            sharing this.]

It's always been my feeling that there is nothing more powerful
than the spoken/written word and it has been said so many different
ways by so many different people.

    Ŀ
I want to become a truly loving spirit. Let my words, if
I must speak, become a restoration of your soul. But
when speech is silent, does a man project the great dept
of his sensitivity. When I touch you, or kiss you, or
hold you, I am saying a thousand words. (Excerpt from:
"I Love You" by Walter Rinder)

The success of PIM is due to the simple power of words and I am truly
honored to be able to share my, and the words of others with YOU!

Poetry has come a long way. It's no longer considered something
written by some bookworm with nothing else to do.

PIM is certainly making an indelible mark and I'm impressed.

Poet's of the world UNITE, because we're writing out way to the TOP!

Sisters are doing it for themselves was started due to March being
   the month dedicated to women!

It's my personal feeling that one month is not enough, therefore,
Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves is now a permanent feature in
   PIM.
