As the Sysop adds, deletes and renames directories, the
traditional numerical listing of directories becomes less useful. The
directories are now divided into about 12 categories, identified by 3
character abbreviations. Each category should be searched for a
desired subject since there are some dislocations from earlier
arrangements. For example, Windows and OS/2 have their own categories,
while Novell DOS, Unix and Other OS are contained in the MSC:
(miscellaneous) category.

The file Dir-List.Num contains the directories in strict numeric
order, while Dir-List.Alp contains an alphabetically sorted list. All
the PC-Ohio file directories are given here, sorted on category and
name, with a few exceptions. Dir 1 is at the top of the list and the
new-upload directory (230) is at the end, immediately followed by the
unused directory numbers. If a Misc or Other directory exists in a
category, it appears at the end of that group. Blank lines have been
added to improve readability.

Dir-List.10 contains both sequences. This file can be nicely
printed on a laser printer in four columns on both sides of one sheet
by using the shareware program 4Print, which can be found on this
board.
