(Network Rules and Guidelines) Updated: 10/01/95
     ͼ
Every network has to have a general set of rules and guidelines, and the
One_Net Christian Network is no different.

One_Net Christian Network is a computer driven network that utilizes
telephone lines and privately owned software/hardware of various
Regional Hubs, Hubs, and nodes to facilitate a multi-tier communications
     service.

     Management of the Network:
     --------------------------
        Overseer of One_Net: Jesus Christ
Network Administration: Ted LaPoint (Kingdom Come! BBS)
                                 Jim Rooney (The Neighborhood BBS)

     Network Operations:
     ------------------
Acceptance to the net is made by the network administrators. Applications
are to be mailed (via conventional mail service, or E-Mail) to the Hub
that you will be echoing mail from. The Hub that has accepted your
application will then forward it to either one of the network
Administrators. The Administrators reserve the right to accept or
decline the application of any Hub or Node into the network.

It is the responsibility of the sponsoring Hubs to be accountable for the
Nodes/Hubs which they bring into the networks. We are all accountable to
our Heavenly Father for the operations of this network.

There is no costs or fees for participation in the One_Net Christian
Network. We believe that where the Lord leads, He provides.

There is to be no charge of any fee for a user to access One_Net by any
     Hub or Node.

     Registered Software:
     --------------------
All members of the network must use registered software on their systems.
The rules and regulations of registering that software must comply with
the respective author's documentation and local, federal laws. The
Administrators of the network reserve the right to decline or terminate
the access of any Hub or node that does not meet with these guidelines.

     Private Messages:
     ----------------
One_Net has the capability to send and receive mail that has been
flagged as "private", "receiver only", or "routed mail". Such mail is
NOT to be considered by any user as actual private messages. There are
no provisions on this network for the sending and receiving of
confidential mail, as pursuant to the Electronic Communications Act of
     1986, 18 USC 2510 et. seq.

All network system operators must agree that they will inform the users
of all One_Net's guidelines and rules, and that this network does not
support the sending or receiving of confidential messages or files.
Appropriate bulletins should be prominently displayed for user/network
guidelines so that everyone may be informed.

One_Net, the administrators, RHubs, Hubs, and Nodes assume no
accountability or liability whatsoever for any violations of this policy
by any or all of the users in this network.

     The Network Hubs:
     ----------------
     1) Regional Hubs and Hubs MUST carry all One_Net Conferences.
     2) Regional Hubs and Hubs MUST relay messages at least once a day.
     3) Regional Hubs and Hubs MUST be a 24 hour BBS.
     4) Regional Hubs and Hubs MUST NOT allow aliases to access the network.
     5) Regional Hubs MUST provide a clear and distinct way for new users to
know and get the One_Net Rules and Guidelines. The respective sysop is
responsible for ensuring (by whatever reasonable method) that the users
are informed of network rules and guidelines prior to participation in
     the One_Net conferences.

The posted rules and guidelines must conform to the following: Be made
readily available for viewing and/or downloading, have high visibility so
that it will be seen and recognized for what it is, easy access, and
cannot be avoided. Hey, its simple we want to save everyone the
embarrassment of any misunderstandings in the network from the excuse of
     "not knowing" the rules.

When any RHub or Hub has been informed to remove the net access of a
Node, the Hub sysop should immediately comply with the request. In the
event that the Hub does not comply with the request, the Administrators
may remove the RHub or Hub from the One_Net Christian network.

     The Network Nodes:
     -----------------
     1) Nodes MUST carry the following (at a minimum):
        a. One_Net-Administration Conference
        b. Open Forum Conference
        c. Praise/Prayer Conference
     2) Nodes MUST pass mail 3 times a week.
     3) Nodes MUST NOT allow aliases to access the network.
     4) Regional Hubs MUST provide a clear and distinct way for new users to
know and get the One_Net Rules and Guidelines.

     Conference Hosts/Hostesses:
     ---------------------------
Conference Hosts/Hostesses are appointed by the network administrators. If
you desire to host a specific conference or forum, please inform the
administrators of your desire and of which conference you wish to host.

     Rules for Hosts/Hostesses:

     1) All communication in the conference should be conducted in a fashion
     that glorifies the Lord.

     2) Greet new callers and make them feel welcome. As a Host/Hostess, you
should practice the gift of hospitality.

     3) Post conference rules regularly (preferably once a month).

     4) Keep the messages in the conference on topic. Politely redirect the
users to the appropriate conference if the subject matter warrants it.

     5) Do not "flame" or assist in "flaming" a user who it out of line.
Report the situation to the sysop in charge of that BBS first. Let them
handle the user on their system. If it continues, the CH may recommend
the removal of the caller by posting to the Administrators AND the host
sysop of the users "home" BBS.

     6) Notify the Administrators of a user that violates any conference or
     network rules/guidelines.

     7) Inform the network administrators of any problems perceived on the net
that effects the proper functioning and/or purpose of the network.

     NETWORK GUIDELINES:
     -------------------
The following guidelines are not meant to "tie-the-hands" of sysops and
their respective boards. All network participants have authority over
their own board and its operations.

All One_Net conferences fall under the jurisdiction of the One_Net
Christian Network and it's administrators. All participating system
operators are responsible for the observation and enforcement of these
     guidelines.

     1) NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES!!! You know what this means. If you are
not sure if it is legal or illegal... DON'T DO IT OR USE IT!

     2) NO ALIASES! An alias is defined as a name that the caller is
using that prevents true identification. The reasons for this are
simple. This reduces "flame-mail", and keeps the integrity of the
network. When you have to put your name on something, you are more
accountable for your actions. All participating sysops are responsible
for ensuring that only validated users have access to the One_Net
     conference areas.

     3) NO ABUSIVE NET USERS! No offensive or abusive language is
permitted in the network. The usage of any word, group of words,
expression, suggestion, comment, that is obscene, indecent, profane,
filthy, lewd, or that is ethnically or racially demeaning is absolutely
prohibited. The local sysop is required to remove any user from any
One_Net conferences that this is occurring in.

     4) NO FLAME MAIL OR PERSONAL ATTACKS! This should be simple
enough. No name calling, insults, slanderous statements or comments,
arrogant, or posts designed to enrage, or any other obnoxious behavior
or comments are allowed. This is an absolute must. It breaks down the
integrity of the system and is harmful, not edifying. The One_Net
Christian Network and its administrators assume no accountability or
liability whatsoever for any violations of this policy by any and all
users of this network. Network sysops can and will be held accountable
for failure to remove access of any offending party to the network
conferences that demonstrate a lack of compliance to any of the above.

     5) Message Conferences: All messages posted in the One_Net
conferences are considered PUBLIC and READABLE by ALL CALLERS. All
messages are the property of One_Net and are not to be copied onto
other message bases or to be echoed on other networks. Quote at an
     absolute minimum.

     6) System Problems: All participating sysops MUST monitor the
administration conference on a regular and frequent basis to be made
aware of any configuration changes, net-status reports, new conferences,
etc. All system operators must correct any problems of cross-echoes,
duplicates, etc. that effect the operation and performance of the
     network.

     7) Network Tag-Lines: All mail from a board must have it's own
unique tagline that identifies where the message originated from.

Software ID Net ID System ID Internet address, etc.

     8) NOT ALLOWED! This net is for the glorification and exhalation
of Jesus Christ. This network will not allow the promotions or
proselytizing of views, opinions, or any organizations that are contrary
to the purpose of this net. If there is any question to what that may
be, consult the ONSOF.TXT for this network's statement of faith.

     9) TELEPHONE NUMBERS or PRIVATE INFORMATION!!! No sysop is to give
out any telephone numbers or private information about anyone in the
network to anyone else without getting permission from who that
information belongs to first - this includes Hubs, Nodes, users, etc.
Hey, if someone asks... get permission first from the person whom that
information belongs. This will prevent any misunderstandings and keep
the high integrity that we strive for.

     10) RESERVED RIGHTS! The system administrators reserve all rights
to terminate ANY posts, discussions, or threads which are deemed
contradictory to the well-being of the network and it's users.

     11) CHANGES TO NETWORK RULES AND GUIDELINES:
The administrators have to final authority and say as far as the
implementation of any changes to netstatus, conferences, policies, or
anything else in regards to the One_Net Christian Network and it's
     operation.
