IK0DWN, JF1MGI/VK9MG, PA3ERC, VE2ZP/VE9CB, 9K2HN and DL9GOA & DX News
Letter for the following DX information.

5A, LIBYA. Dan, W4BRE, reports that all the documentation for the 5A1A
operation was sent to the ARRL DXCC Desk on August 10th, from Kiev by
the International Youth League of Ukraine. The league should have it
within 4-5 days. There is a very good chance there will be a different
QSL address for any QSOs made AFTER July 25 by the members of the 5A1A
Youth League, which was established in Libya by the Ukrainians. There
are presently three Libyan operators active at 5A1A now, Ali, Usaama,
and Mufi. 5A1A club station has been heard around 7005 kHz at 2000z
and on 20 meters SSB (14207 and 14243) sometimes with Selim, OE6EEG, to
help out. One operator, Usaama, has asked to QSL via Box 78665 in Tripoli,
but since no QSL cards are printed as of yet for these operators, it is
recommended that everyone should wait on sending QSLs until a correct
address is determined or verified. Meanwhile, a report of a station
signing 5A/G0UCT showed up last Friday on 14020 kHz between 1515 and
1630z. The station is probably a SLIM, but Work First Worry Later (WFWL).

5R MADAGASCAR. Shun, JF1MGI/VK9MG, who is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine,
will be in Madagascar from middle August to the end of September to
investigate ecosystems of rare animals, such as Lemur Catta (Ringtail

callsign 5R8EU. QSL to his home CBA.

A6, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. The DX News Sheets (DXNS) report that A61AI
and A61AM are two new recently licensed stations.

ASIAN AND AFRICIAN DXPEDITIONS. Ali, ZP5ALI, will be active from Syria
as YK1/ZP5ALI from Augsut 22-27th, Egypt as SU1/ZP5ALI from August 28th
to September 3rd and Lebanon as OD5FR from September 4-14th. Operations
