          ARTISOFT'S LANTASTIC(R) SYSTEM WINS PC MAGAZINE'S EDITORS'
          CHOICE AWARD FOR SMALL-BUSINESS NETWORKING

(TUCSON, AZ -- May 16, 1995) -- Artisoft, Inc. announced
today that its LANtastic network operating system v6.0 has
won PC Magazine's Editors' Choice Award for Small-Business
Networks. This review of the top small-business networks
appears in the May 30, 1995 issue of PC Magazine, and is
          based on criteria such as file and printer sharing;
          installation and management; interoperability; and
scalability. The LANtastic network was chosen over
          Microsoft's Windows(TM) for Workgroups v3.11 and Performance
          Technology's POWERLan(R) v3.1.

In previous years, PC Magazine had reviewed top local area
networks under the category of peer-to-peer networking, but
changed the category label for 1995 to small-business
networking. The LANtastic network was a five-time winner of
PC Magazine's Editors' Choice Award under the peer-to- peer
          networking category.

"Artisoft is extremely pleased that the LANtastic network
has been named for the sixth time as a PC Magazine Editors'
Choice," said Artisoft Vice President of Worldwide Marketing
Bill Peterson. "This recognition underscores the value of
the LANtastic system as the ideal solution for our selected
target market of small and growing businesses," he added.

In its review PC Magazine stated, "Still leading after all
these years: Artisoft's LANtastic Network Operating System
is easy to use and Version 6.0 delivers the most complete
range of features among these three packages ... as a
purchase that will grow with you, LANtastic is the excellent
          choice here."

The review also stated, "Artisoft's LANtastic is not only
the most popular and one of the fastest small-business
networks, it also includes more workgroup features and
          functionality than any other NOS."

The LANtastic network was cited by the magazine for good
security features for file sharing, easy installation, solid
interoperability with other network operating systems, the
ability to scale natively with a 32-bit server, and built-in
support for a range of clients, including DOS, Microsoft(R)
Windows, IBM's OS/2(R) and Macintosh(R). Pricing for the
LANtastic network starts at $119 (MSRP) for a single node.

"Given the broad range of operating systems supported by the
LANtastic network and the Artisoft(R) scalable family of
products, small business customers can turn to Artisoft for
satisfying their networking needs," Peterson said.

According to Link Resources, Artisoft is the fastest growing
provider of small business networks. In two other surveys,
Artisoft was ranked as the leader in 1994 peer-to-peer
network shipments, claiming 39.4% of the market in an
International Data Corporation study and 40% in a Computer
          Intelligence InfoCorp review.
