ISSUE

     Installing Novell DOS 7

If you are installing Novell DOS 7, use the follow the
     steps:

NOTE: If installing from a network drive, you should load
the network drivers and map a drive to the network
directory where the Novell DOS 7 files exist.

     1. From your floppy disk drive or from the drive letter
you mapped on the network, type INSTALL.

NOTE: If you are installing from a network drive you
may ignore the message telling you to boot from your
current operating system. Just press <Enter> to
          continue.

     2. INSTALL will read configuration files and take you to a
main INSTALL screen. Choose the Continue with
          installation option.

     3. Enter data for the Name, Company Name, and Serial
          Number, as appropriate.

     4. Verify the keyboard type is correct for your computer.

     5. You will be at a screen asking you which components of
Novell DOS 7 to install. Select Networking System. If
you have Windows installed on your hard disk, you will
want to select to install the MS-Windows Utilities. If
Windows is not currently installed "deselect" MS
Windows Utilities. Choose the "Continue at this
          screen" option.

NOTE: You cannot "deselect" the standard DOS files.
          They will always be installed.

     6. Choose the "Change the installation settings" option at
the next screen that comes up.

     7. You will be at a configuration menu. This is where you
select which components you wish to configure.

NOTE: After installing Novell DOS 7, you can access
          this same utility as SETUP.EXE.

INSTALL will use your existing CONFIG.SYS and
AUTOEXEC.BAT files. If you have no previous DOS
configuration on your hard disk, INSTALL, based on your
hardware, will choose defaults for all settings.

     8. Choose the "Proceed with the installation" option. The
screen will display several lines of information on how
INSTALL will configure your system. Choose the "Start
          Installation" option.

     9. The system will display a percentage complete monitor,
as well as displaying file activity as files are
          installed to your hard disk.

If you are installing from floppy diskettes, you will
          be prompted to switch diskettes.

     10. You will get a message box indicating the installation
is complete. Press <Enter> to go to the final INSTALL
          screen.

     11. At this final INSTALL screen, you have the option to
view the READ.ME file (which displays the text file
README.TXT), view your configuration files, or restart
the operating system. After you have viewed the
configuration files and README.TXT file, choose the
"Restart Operating System" option, to reboot the
computer and load Novell DOS 7.

Note the message that appears before your machine is
restarted. It tells you that you can use SETUP.EXE to
further configure your system, including setting up the
network and compressing your hard disk.

Novell DOS 7 is now installed on your hard disk.
