Please read the following release notes related to the Client/Gateway Service
for NetWare(R).

This release is for Windows NT 3.1 only. Do not attempt to install it on
a Windows NT 3.5 system.

Product Description
===================
The Client (or Gateway) Service for NetWare provides connectivity to NetWare
Servers. On a Windows NT computer, this software is automatically installed
as the Client Service. On a Windows NT Advanced Server computer it is
installed as the Gateway Service. The Gateway Service allows resharing of
NetWare resources in addition to all the functionality available in the
Client Service.

Installation
============
If you have an existing installation of the Client or Gateway Service for
NetWare (previously known as NetWare Compatible Workstation) you should
remove this older installation and restart your computer before installing
the Client or Gateway Service for NetWare.

When installing the software, you must select "<Other> Requires disk from
manufacturer" from the list of options in the Add Network Software dialog.

Please ensure you have at minimum installed Windows NT Service Pack 1
before installing the Client or Gateway Service for NetWare. If you install
Service Pack 2 after you install this service, you should remove and
reinstall the Client/Gateway Service for NetWare. If you install later
Service Packs (2B and up), you do not need to perform this step. Microsoft
recommends that you have at least Service Pack 2.

Caveats
=======
Because of the change in the product name, your persistent (remembered)
connections made by an earlier version of this software will not be
restored correctly. Please delete and remake those connections. You will
also need to recreate any gateway shares made by an earlier version of this
software.

If you use this software in conjunction with Oracle Office, you will need
to add a DWORD value to the registry key:
    SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\SERVICES\NWLINKIPX\PARAMETERS
The value name is "RouterMtu" and it should be set to 534 decimal. Setting
this registry value may also be needed for other NLMs that use SPX to talk
to the Windows NT computer.

When configuring a Print Gateway, it is recommended that you restart the
computer before printing to it. You may also experience problems accessing
NetWare resources via the Gateway if the NetWare server is stopped and
restarted. If so, stopping and restarting the Gateway Service will correct
the problem.

Windows NT 3.5
==============
If you accidentally try to install this sofware on a Windows NT 3.5 system, the
install will fail. However, a ???.INF file will be left in your Windows NT 3.5
<WINNT\SYSTEM32> directory that may cause problems. This file will be dated
5/18/94, 1:30pm and will have a name that begins with OEMNSV followed by a
number. Please delete this file.

16 bit Windows NetWare aware applications
=========================================
Applications that include 4.x specific APIs are not supported.

Wall Data Rumba for the Mainframe has been tested to work with this release.
In addition to NWIPXSPX.DLL, the software requires the TSR, WDNOVTSR. This
TSR must be added to AUTOEXEC.NT. See the documentation on running 16 bit
applications for additional information.
